Alexander Ross (1783-1856) was born in Scotland and became known as a pioneer and fur trader in Canada and the Pacific Northwest. From the guide to the Alexander Ross diary of the Snake Country expedition, 1824, (Oregon Historical Society Research Library) Alexander Ross was a HudsonBay Company fur trader and trapper.
